A couplet, and then the song

तेरी ज़मीं पे क़दम नहीं मेरे तो क्या हुआ,
तेरे ही नाम से जुड़ी है मेरी हर दुआ।

What of it, that my feet never touch your soil — every prayer I make still carries your name.

रूहानिया

The poet

I'm Dr Abhishek Srivastava — a scientist by profession, a poet by soul.

I have been writing Hindi poetry for more than thirty-five years, long before any of it was ever sung. In 2025 the poems started becoming songs. I write every word myself and direct how each one sounds; the technology is an instrument in the room, not the author.

A song here is a memory, a mood, or an argument I was having with myself. Many began as pages in Dil Ke Sau Rang — a hundred poems, published before a note of this existed. How these songs are made →

Let the words sing. Let the melodies speak.

Dil Ke Sau Rang — the poetry collection by Abhishek Srivastava

The book

A hundred colours, a hundred poems

The collection the songs came out of. Devotion and heartbreak sit next to humour and social satire, because that is how a heart actually works.

Several of these poems are now tracks you can hear on this site.
